Tec 40

Welcome and congratulations on deciding to take the next step in diving towards your Tec 40! Thank you for choosing to do your course with us, we look for to teaching and guiding you on your way to your first technical level course. Tec diving is not for the fainthearted. It will test your ability as a diver, you will be entering the world of decompression diving. Excellent dive skills, techniques and procedures are required for technical level courses. During the Tec 40 course you will be introduced to basic decompression procedures and techniques. You will be introduced to a back mounted twin set diving configuration. If you are already a Tec Sidemount diver we can do the course in either backmount or sidemount.  The PADI TecRec program is challenging but very rewarding! If you are ready to take the next step, lets get into what the course involves.

Pre-Requisites:

Minimum Age: 18 years
Certification level:
PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent

PADI Enriched Air Diver or equivalent

PADI Deep Diver or equivalent

Logged 30 Scuba Dives – 10 with EANX deeper than 18m
Medical certificate from a physician – See Medical Form —————>

The PADI TEC 40 Course consists of two phases:

1. Knowledge developement

  • Digital manual – 3 Knowledge Reviews
  • Final exam

2. Practical Application

  • Equipment Configuration Workshop
  • Decompression Dive Planning
  • 3 Practical Application sessions
  • 1 Confined Water Training Dive
  • 3 Open Water Training Dives

Day 1:

Equipment Configuration Workshop

Decompression Dive Planning

Training Dive 1 –  Confined Water – Decompression Diving Skills Introduction

Gases: Air and EANX up to 50%

Day 2:

9:00 – 13:00 (Boat diving – meeting time is 1 hour before)

Training Dive 2 – Open Water

Depth: 10m – 18m

Gases: Air and EANX 50%

Decompression: No Decompression dive

Dive Planning and Equipment Setup

Day 3:

9:00 – 13:00 (Boat diving – meeting time is 1 hour before)

Training Dive 3 – Open Water

Depth: 15m – 27m

Gases: Air and EANX 50%

Decompression: No Decompression dive

Dive Planning and Equipment Setup

Day 4:

9:00 – 13:00 (Boat diving – meeting time is 1 hour before)

Training Dive 4 – Open Water

Depth: 26m – 40m

Gases: Air and EANX 50%

Decompression: 10 min total – No Accelerated Deco
